JPMorgan Chase Begins Planned Layoffs for 2025
American banking major JPMorgan Chase has notified its employees about job cuts, which is part of a series of downsizing efforts throughout 2025, reports said.
Barron’s reported that managers have started informing employees about possible layoffs. Less than 1000 employees are expected to be laid off in February, following which further cuts will be announced in mid-March, May, June, August and September.
An emailed statement mailed to Reuters said, “We regularly review our business needs and adjust our staffing accordingly.”
"We continue to hire in many areas and work hard to redeploy impacted employees ... This is part of our regular management of the business and impacts a very small number of employees."
As of 2024, JPMorgan Chase had a headcount of 317,233 employees. Close to 0.3% of the total workforce would be laid off.
